Mikael Samuelsson tallied twice in just under three minutes in the second period and Roberto Luongo turned aside 24 shots as the Vancouver Canucks skated to a 4-2 triumph over the Calgary Flames on Saturday in a battle of Northwest Division rivals.
Alex Burrows scored twice to extend his points streak to nine games and Mason Raymond and Manny Malhotra notched a pair of assists apiece for league-leading Vancouver (36-11-9), which has won seven of its last eight games.
With Calgary clinging to a 2-1 lead, Samuelsson extended his points streak to six games by leveling the contest at 10:40 of the second period following Raymond's second assist of the night.
The 34-year-old Swede then netted his fifth goal in four games - and 15th of the season - with a power-play tally at 13:20 of the session.
Fending off the last effects of the flu, Luongo made the slim lead stand up to improve to 27-8-7 on the season. Burrows capped the scoring with an empty-net tally with 42 seconds remaining in the third period.
Tim Jackman and Curtis Glencross scored just over two minutes apart in the second period for Calgary (28-22-8), which dropped its second straight game.
Miikka Kiprusoff turned aside 29 shots to drop to 7-1-2 in his last 10 contests.
