Defensemen Cory Sarich and Steve Staios scored goals less than 2 1/2 minutes apart early in the third period as the Calgary Flames kicked off their five-game homestand with a 4-2 triumph over the struggling Dallas Stars on Wednesday.
Olli Jokinen and Tom Kostopoulos also tallied, Rene Bourque notched two assists and Miikka Kiprusoff made 22 saves for the Flames, who have won 10 of their last 13 overall and improved to 6-0-2 in their last eight home games.
Sarich snapped a 2-2 tie at 2:35 of the third and Staios scored a shorthanded goal 2:12 later, beating Kari Lehtonen with a slap shot from the left faceoff circle to double Calgary's lead.
The Flames have earned at least one point in 21 of their last 25 contests (16-4-5).
Jokinen opened the scoring at 4:14 of the first, but Mike Ribeiro and Jamie Langenbrunner tallied less than four minutes apart midway through the second to give Dallas a 2-1 edge. Kostopoulos knotted the game later in the session with a power-play goal.
Lehtonen stopped 27 shots for the Stars, who have lost nine of 11 overall and six straight on the road.
