Hurricanes 3, Flyers 2
Erik Cole scored the game-winning goal with 3:03 remaining and Cam Ward made 21 saves to lead the Carolina Hurricanes to a 3-2 win over the visiting Philadelphia Flyers on Friday.
Chad LaRose and rookie Jeff Skinner also scored for Carolina, which picked up the win after surrendering a 2-0 lead.
Cole put Carolina ahead for good when he buried a pass from Jussi Jokinen on a 2-on-1 for his 17th of the season, and Ward shut the door with Philadelphia pushing late in the third.
LaRose opened the scoring at 4:12 of the first period and Skinner doubled the lead at the 6:37 mark when he broke in on a 2-on-1 and ripped a slap shot that trickled past Sergei Bobrovsky.
Blair Betts scored shorthanded in the second period to pull the Flyers within a goal and defenseman Brandon Coburn scored his second goal of the season at 14:49 of the third period to tie the game.
Bobrovsky made 26 saves in the loss.
