Red Wings 4, Panthers 3
Todd Bertuzzi scored twice, including the game-winner in the third period, and Pavel Datsyuk added a goal and an assist as the visiting Detroit Red Wings escaped with a 4-3 victory over the Florida Panthers on Friday.
Henrik Zetterberg recorded a pair of assists and Danny Cleary scored his 19th goal for the Red Wings, who have won four straight.
Detroit held a two-goal lead late in the second when Dennis Wideman cut it to 3-2 on a power-play goal for the Panthers with 17 seconds left in the period. Stephen Weiss brought Florida all the way back in the third, knotting it at 3-3 with his 16th goal at the 9:36 mark.
Bertuzzi, who had opened the scoring with a goal in the first period, struck again just under three minutes later. On assists from Zetterberg and Johan Franzen, Bertuzzi sent a slap shot from the top of the right face-off circle past Tomas Vokoun on the high glove side for his 14th goal, putting the Red Wings back on top.
Vokoun made 26 saves for Florida, which fell to 2-4-2 this month.
