Blackhawks 6, Flames 4

Captain Jonathan Toews tallied twice and Marian Hossa scored for the fifth straight game as the Chicago Blackhawks recorded their sixth straight victory with a 6-4 triumph over the visiting Calgary Flames on Wednesday.

Michael Frolik collected a goal and two assists and Dave Bolland and defenseman Brian Campbell also tallied for Chicago (35-23-6), which moved past Calgary (33-24-9) and tied the Phoenix Coyotes (33-22-10) with 76 points for fourth place in the ultra-competitive Western Conference standings.

Toews extended his scoring streak to seven games when he cleaned up a loose puck on the doorstep at 6:46 of the first period. The All-Star would also net his 25th tally of the season with 3:27 remaining in the second for his 25th point (eight goals and 17 assists) in his last 25 contests.

Corey Crawford permitted a pair of third-period goals to Rene Bourque and one to captain Jarome Iginla, but Bolland's tally midway through the session stood up as the winner. Crawford turned aside 21 shots to improve to 8-1-1 in his last 10 games.

Alex Tanguay recorded a goal and an assist to secure his 10th point in six games for Calgary, which has dropped its last nine contests in the Windy City.

Miikka Kiprusoff permitted four goals on 19 shots before giving way to Henrik Karlsson, who stopped nine shots as the Flames saw their two-game winning streak come to an end.
