Stars 4, Kings 3 (OT)

Jamie Benn scored a shorthanded goal in the third period and captain Brenden Morrow tallied 38 seconds into overtime as the Dallas Stars rallied for a 4-3 road victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Monday.

Mike Ribeiro notched a goal and two assists, defenseman Trevor Daley also scored and Kari Lehtonen made 20 saves for the Stars, who went 3-0-1 on their four-game road trip and improved to 5-0-1 in their last six overall.

Justin Williams had a goal and an assist, blue-liner Willie Mitchell and Kyle Clifford each tallied, and Jonathan Bernier stopped 18 shots for Los Angeles, which concluded a 3-2-1 homestand.

Benn put a backhander between Bernier's pads during a breakaway at 5:20 of the third to forge a 3-3 tie and Morrow took a drop pass from Ribeiro in the right faceoff circle and fired it into the top right corner of the net for only his second goal in 11 games.

Mitchell beat Lehtonen with a slap shot from the left point at 8:39 of the first period to give Los Angeles a 1-0 lead. Ribeiro knotted the game at 6:47 of the second, but Williams put the Kings back in front 35 seconds later with his first goal in nine contests.

Dallas got even when Daley beat Bernier from the left faceoff circle at 1:57 of the third for his sixth tally. Los Angeles quickly moved back ahead as Clifford scored 44 seconds later.
