Lightning 4, Blackhawks 3 (SO)

Martin St. Louis scored the only goal in the shootout in the third round as the Tampa Bay Lightning snapped a four-game losing streak with a 4-3 victory over the visiting Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday night.

St. Louis, who also had a goal and assist in regulation, did a complete spin move before lifting a backhander past Corey Crawford to keep Tampa Bay within two points of Southeast Division leader Washington.

Steven Stamkos notched his league-leading 42nd goal, Teddy Purcell also tallied and Dwayne Roloson made 28 saves, including the game clincher when he stopped Marian Hossa on the final shooutout attempt.

Captain Jonathan Toews had a goal and two assists for Chicago, which dropped its second game in as many nights following an eight-game winning streak.

Patrick Kane and Patrick Sharp also scored for the Blackhawks, who battled back from a 3-1 deficit to send the game into overtime.

Crawford made 27 saves for Chicago.
