Marian Hossa scored twice and Patrick Sharp recorded four assists as the host Chicago Blackhawks downed the San Jose Sharks 6-3 on Monday.
The Blackhawks (38-24-8) moved past Los Angeles, Dallas and Phoenix, and into fourth in the Western Conference with 84 points.
The Sharks (39-23-8), who lead the Pacific Division with 86 points, have lost three straight.
San Jose led 2-1 after the first period on goals by Joe Pavelski and Joe Thornton, who scored his first goal in six games. Viktor Stalberg scored in the first period for Chicago.
The Blackhawks scored five times in the second period, including two power-play goals by Hossa less than three minutes apart.
Jonathan Toews, Niklas Hjalmarsson and Patrick Kane also scored for Chicago, as did San Jose's Logan Couture.
Sharks goalie Antti Niemi allowed four goals on 18 shots before being pulled after Toews’ goal in favor of Antero Niittymaki, who gave up two goals on 15 shots.
Corey Crawford made 28 saves for the Blackhawks.
