Penguins 5, Senators 1

Jordan Staal and Tyler Kennedy each had a goal and assist to lead the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 5-1 road victory over the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday.

Chris Kunitz had three assists for the Penguins (41-22-8), who won for the fourth time in five games despite playing without injured superstars Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.

The Penguins remain three points behind Philadelphia, which also won Tuesday, for both the Atlantic Division and Eastern Conference lead.

Ben Lovejoy, Matt Cooke and Zbynek Michalek also scored for the Penguins.

Ryan Shannon scored the lone goal for the Senators (25-36-9), who occupy last place in the Eastern Conference.

Brent Johnson had 20 saves for the Penguins, while Craig Anderson allowed five goals on 41 shots for the Senators.

Penguins forward Alex Kovalev had an assist. The former Senator was booed loudly in his first game in Ottawa since being traded to Pittsburgh last month.
