Blue Jackets 5, Wild 4

Antoine Vermette scored the overtime winner and captain Rick Nash snapped a lengthy scoring drought with a pair of goals to lift the Columbus Blue Jackets to a 5-4 win over the host Minnesota Wild on Saturday afternoon.

Vermette beat Niklas Backstrom at 4:26 of the extra session as the Jackets won for just the second time in their last 11 games.

Nash's 30th and 31st goals of the season ended an 11-game goalless stretch that matched the longest of his career. Nash hadn't gone that long without a tally since early in his rookie season.

Nash's second goal of the game put Columbus up 4-2 with 6:20 remaining. Minnesota's Antti Miettinen closed the gap 1:13 later, and Pierre-Marc Bouchard capped the frenetic stretch with his ninth goal of the campaign at 17:57 to force extra time.

Nash finished with four points, while Kris Russell and Jan Hejda had the other Columbus goals.

Brad Staubitz and Cal Clutterbuck added markers for the Wild.
