Predators 4, Sabres 3 (OT)

Blake Geoffrion earned his first career NHL hat trick and Martin Erat notched the winner in overtime as the Nashville Predators stormed back to stun the host Buffalo Sabres 4-3 Sunday.

Trailing 3-1 with less than three minutes remaining, Geoffrion and the Predators went to work. The 23-year-old rookie drew Nashville to within one at 17:33 and evened the score just 1:04 later, capping the hat trick and giving him six goals in his first 11 NHL games.

Erat completed the comeback, beating Sabres netminder Ryan Miller as the Predators won for the fifth time in the past six games. The win moved Nashville into a sixth-place tie with the Dallas Stars in the packed Western Conference standings.

Tyler Ennis, Tim Connolly and Nathan Gerbe had second-period goals for Buffalo, which earned a valuable single point to stretch its lead over Carolina to three points in the race for the eighth and final playoff berth in the East. Buffalo is three points back of the seventh-place New York Rangers, who beat Pittsburgh 5-2 earlier Sunday.

Anders Lindback turned aside 35 shots to preserve the win while Miller made 22 saves in defeat.
