Ducks 5, Flames 4 (OT)
Corey Perry's goal 2:38 into overtime capped a wild finish as the Anaheim Ducks pulled out a 5-4 victory over the visiting Calgary Flames on Sunday night.
After blowing a three-goal lead before forcing extra time with two minutes left in regulation, the Ducks had a chance to win when Bobby Ryan was awarded a penalty shot after being tripped by Steve Staios on a breakaway. He was stopped by Flames netminder Henrik Karlsson.
The Ducks then won the ensuing faceoff and Ryan Getzlaf fed the puck back to Lydman, whose slapshot from the blue-line was deflected by Perry past a fooled Karlsson to give Anaheim the thrilling win.
The victory moved the Ducks into a share of eighth place in the West, even with the Dallas Stars and a point up on the Flames. It also extended Anaheim's home winning streak over Calgary to 13 games dating back to the beginning of 2004.
Getzlaf finished with a goal and three assists while Perry scored twice and Teemu Selanne added a goal and two assists for the Ducks, who chased Calgary netminder Miikka Kiprusoff by scoring three times in the opening 5:49. Francois Beauchemin had the other Anaheim marker.
Calgary roared back with a goal in the first, two more in the second and the go-ahead marker in the third, Jarome Iginla's 33rd of the season on a power play seven minutes into the period. Selanne salvaged the game for Anaheim, evening things at 17:59.
Tom Kostopoulos had two goals for Calgary while Rene Bourque added his 25th of the season in defeat.
