Canadiens 3, Bruins 1

Michael Cammalleri collected a goal and an assist and Carey Price turned aside 34 shots as the Montreal Canadiens claimed their second consecutive road victory with a 3-1 triumph over the Boston Bruins on Saturday.

Cammalleri and Mathieu Darche scored 2:20 into the contest and defenseman Yannick Weber also tallied for sixth-seeded Montreal, which heads back to the Bell Centre with a 2-0 advantage in its Eastern Conference quarterfinal series. Game 3 is Monday.

Northeast Division champion Boston played without captain Zdeno Chara, who was hospitalized for dehydration on Friday night. The towering defenseman participated in pre-game warmups, but was not medically cleared to play.

Cammalleri opened the scoring 43 seconds into the contest after cleaning up a rebound following defenseman James Wisniewski's shot from just outside the right faceoff circle.

With his team on the power play, Darche doubled the advantage just 97 seconds later as he banged home Cammalleri's feed on the doorstep for his first career playoff goal.

After Patrice Bergeron capped a tic-tac-toe play on the doorstep at 7:38 of the second period, Weber regained the Canadiens' two-goal cushion nearly 10 minutes later by banging home a rebound off Lars Eller's shot.

Tim Thomas finished with 23 saves for third-seeded Boston, which has now lost its last six postseason games dating back to last year.
