Predators 4, Ducks 3
Mike Fisher's goal midway through the third period lifted the Nashville Predators to a 4-3 win over the visiting Anaheim Ducks in Game 3 of their Western Conference quarterfinal Sunday.
Fisher helped give the Predators a 2-1 in the best-of-seven series with a redirection of a deft centering pass from Sergei Kostitsyn at 10:21 of the third. The puck found its way to Fisher at the side of the crease and he fired it past Anaheim netminder Ray Emery to put Nashville up for good.
Martin Erat, Jordin Tootoo and David Legwand also scored for Nashville, which will host Game 4 on Wednesday night.
Teemu Selanne had a pair of goals while fellow Finn Saku Koivu also scored for Anaheim.
Erat and Tootoo scored 38 seconds apart in the first period to give Nashville a 2-0 lead, but Selanne and the Ducks stormed back in the second frame. The 40-year-old forward converted a Corey Perry pass on the power play at 18:10, then beat the Nashville defense to a loose puck and eluded Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne 30 seconds later for his fourth goal of the postseason.
Legwand and Koivu exchanged goals 1:23 apart early in the third, setting the stage for Fisher's heroics.
Rinne made 13 saves in the win, while Emery stopped 33 shots in defeat.
