Stars 3, Blue Jackets 2
Kari Lehtonen turned aside 38 shots and the Dallas Stars kept the host Columbus Blue Jackets winless with a 3-2 victory on Tuesday.
Jamie Benn had a goal and an assist, and Steve Ott and Michael Ryder scored goals as Dallas swept the home-and-home series and extended its winning streak to four games.
Lehtonen posted his league-leading fifth victory in remaining undefeated on the season.
Derick Brassard and Kris Russell scored third-period goals for the Blue Jackets, who are off to the worst start in franchise history (0-5-1). Columbus netminder Steve Mason made only 15 saves and has allowed at least three goals for the fifth time in six starts.
Ott broke a scoreless tie by beating Mason to the glove side from the right face-off dot at 4:17 of the second period.
Benn doubled the advantage 1:31 seconds into the third period, but Columbus responded when Brassard banged a rebound past Lehtonen on the power play at 5:06.
It was the 2,000th goal in franchise history and only the second tally with the man advantage in 29 attempts this season.
The momentum was short-lived when Ryder redirected a shot past Mason at 6:27 to restore the two-goal lead.
Columbus was without first-line center Jeff Carter, who was put on injured reserve Tuesday with a hairline crack on the top of his right foot.
