Blue Jackets 3, Senators 2

Jason Spezza and Milan Michalek scored 31 seconds apart in the final minute of the third period to give the Ottawa Senators a 4-3 home triumph over the winless Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday.

Filip Kuba and Zack Smith also tallied while Spezza added two assists for Ottawa, which has won two straight following a three-game slide.

With Columbus (0-7-1) 36 seconds away from its first win of the season, Spezza buried a rebound from the doorstep during a power play to forge a 3-3 tie. With five seconds remaining, Michalek tipped Sergei Gonchar's slap shot past Steve Mason for his sixth tally of the season.

Captain Rick Nash, playing in his 600th career game, had given Columbus a 3-2 lead at 9:20 of the third with a power-play goal.

Mason made 23 saves in falling to 0-9-2 since posting a victory over Florida on March 29.

Ottawa's Craig Anderson stopped 18 shots to post his fifth straight win over the Blue Jackets.
