Avalanche 5, Blackhawks 4 (SO)

Joakim Lindstrom scored the only goal of the shootout in the third round as the Colorado Avalanche earned a split of their home-and-home series against the Chicago Blackhawks with a 5-4 road triumph on Saturday.

Rookie Gabriel Landeskog tied the game late in the third period with his second goal of the night and Paul Stastny added a tally and an assist for Colorado, which improved to 6-0-0 on the road this season.

After Semyon Varlamov denied Patrick Kane's stuff attempt on Chicago's third shootout attempt, Lindstrom used a backhand deke to put Corey Crawford out of position before slipping the puck into the vacant net for the win.

Colorado built a 3-1 lead, but Marian Hossa capped a run of three straight Chicago goals with 5:27 remaining in the third period to put the Blackhawks ahead. However, Landeskog forged a 4-4 tie when beat Crawford from alone in the slot with 1:48 to go.

Captain Jonathan Toews had a power-play goal for Chicago, which is 4-0-2 in its last six games.
