Canadiens 5, Flyers 1

Max Pacioretty collected two goals and an assist and Carey Price recorded his 100th career win by turning aside 21 shots as the Montreal Canadiens skated to their first victory at the Bell Centre this season with a 5-1 triumph over the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday.

Defenseman Yannick Weber netted a power-play goal with three seconds remaining in the first period and Andrei Kostitsyn and Michael Cammalleri also scored for Montreal, which snapped a six-game losing skid and improved to 1-3-2 at home.

With the contest tied at 1-1, Kostitsyn capped a goal-mouth scramble after the puck caromed off his leg and past Ilya Bryzgalov with 9:34 remaining in the second period.

Pacioretty, who is dealing with ligament damage in his wrist, wired a shot past Bryzgalov just 2:12 later and secured his fourth multi-goal game of his career after cleaning up a rebound 3:16 into the third period.

Veteran Jaromir Jagr collected his third goal in two games for Philadelphia, which has dropped three of its last four overall and suffered its fourth loss in 13 meetings against the Canadiens.

Bryzgalov finished with 23 saves to fall to 0-2-1 in his career versus Montreal.

Prior to the contest, the struggling Canadiens fired assistant coach Perry Pearn.
