Jason Pominville scored two goals and added an assist to lift the Buffalo Sabres to a 4-2 victory over the visiting Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday night.
Patrick Kaleta scored the go-ahead goal – his first of the season – with 5:52 to play and Brad Boyes also tallied to give the Sabres their first win on home ice.
Jhonas Enroth made a career-high 41 saves in his second start of the season and Buffalo improved to 6-0-0 when leading after two periods.
Thomas Vanek contributed three assists as the Sabres dropped the Blue Jackets to a league-worst 1-8-1.
Vinny Prospal and Fedor Tyutin scored goals for Columbus, which went 0-for-6 on the power play to fall to 0-5-0 on the road and drop its 10th consecutive game away from home dating to last season.
Steve Mason made only 22 saves for the Blue Jackets, who held a 43-26 edge in shots on goal.
