Stars 3, Devils 1
Vernon Fiddler scored his second goal of the season and Kari Lehtonen got back to his winning ways with 31 saves as the host Dallas Stars beat the New Jersey Devils 3-1 on Saturday.
Loui Eriksson added his sixth tally and Sheldon Souray recorded his third on an empty-netter to cap a two-point night for the Stars, who have yet to lose back-to-back games.
Lehtonen, who won his first seven starts, allowed four goals and was finally beaten by the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday. The Helsinki native bounced right back against the Devils, helping kill off three penalties while stopping at least nine shots in each period.
Fiddler gave Dallas the lead at the 11:34 mark of the third. The left wing was behind the net with the puck and knocked it into traffic in front, getting it to hit off a skate and past Johan Hedberg for the tie-breaking goal.
Petr Sykora scored for New Jersey, which has dropped four of five.
