Michael Ryder scored a pair of first-period goals as the visiting Dallas Stars extending their winning streak to four games with a 5-2 victory over the Washington Capitals on Tuesday night.

Red-hot Jamie Benn added a goal and two assists to help the Stars hand Washington its first home loss in seven games.

Kari Lehtonen made 30 saves in notching his league-leading 11th victory while improving to a perfect 5-0-0 on the road.

Adam Burish scored 24 seconds into the third period to break a 2-2 deadlock before Benn and Eric Nystrom added goals 32 seconds apart to break it open.

Ryder scored his 14th and 15th goals in 27 career games against Washington, which has dropped eight of the last 10 meetings with Dallas. He also has seven points in his last three games overall

Benn extended his points streak to six games, during which he has three goals and eight assists.

Alexander Semin and John Carlson scored goals for the Capitals, who absorbed their second straight defeat.

Michal Neuvirth turned aside 31 shots in his third start of the season for Washington.
