Kings 5, Wild 2
Simon Gagne recorded a goal and an assist as the Los Angeles Kings chased Josh Harding and rolled to a 5-2 home victory over the Minnesota Wild on Saturday.
Colin Fraser, Alec Martinez, Dustin Brown and Matt Greene also scored and Jonathan Quick made 24 saves in snapping a personal six-game losing streak for Los Angeles, which won for just the second time in eight contests.
With coach Terry Murray celebrating his 1,000th career game behind an NHL bench, Fraser opened the scoring 2:49 into the game with his first goal of the season and Martinez doubled the lead two minutes into the second with a power-play tally.
Brown buried his own rebound at 6:49, and Gagne and Greene scored 2 1/2 minutes apart to make it 5-0.
Gagne's goal ended the night for Harding, who yielded four tallies on 21 shots. Harding had surrendered a total of just six goals in his first five starts.
Cal Clutterbuck and Darroll Powe scored for the Wild, who fell to 1-2-0 on their five-game road trip. Minnesota has lost two straight following a five-game winning streak.
