Panthers 6, Stars 0
Stephen Weiss and Kris Versteeg collected a goal and two assists apiece and Scott Clemmensen turned aside 25 shots in his season debut as the Florida Panthers skated to a 6-0 road triumph over the Dallas Stars on Tuesday.
Jason Garrison netted his seventh goal to lead all NHL defensemen and Evgeny Dadonov tallied for the second straight contest for Florida, which has won three of its last four games.
After the Panthers enjoyed a 14-4 edge in shots to take a 2-0 lead in the first period, Florida kept the pressure on in the second period.
Weiss set up Tomas Fleischmann, who slipped past defenseman Stephane Robidas and lifted a shot over Kari Lehtonen. Fleischmann returned the favor by assisting on Weiss' tally with 7.8 seconds left to give Florida a 4-0 advantage.
Clemmensen, who took the ice for the first time since his preseason knee surgery, stopped 15 shots in the third period to secure his seventh career shutout.
Lehtonen finished with 24 saves for Pacific Division-leading Dallas, which has dropped three in a row.
