Canadiens 4, Hurricanes 0

Carey Price turned aside 25 shots for his first shutout of the season as the Montreal Canadiens cruised to a 4-0 home win over the slumping Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday night.

Price didn't have to be that sharp – making only 12 saves over the first two periods – but was good when he had to be en route to his 13th career blanking and first against Carolina.

The Hurricanes looked lethargic for most of the game, falling for the sixth time in seven contests and dropping to 2-6-2 on the road this season.

The Canadians took charge from the outset, outshooting Carolina 16-4 in a dominant first period. Michael Cammalleri opened the scoring at 7:15, and Yannick Weber extended the advantage eight minutes later on a wicked one-timer with Montreal enjoying a power play.

P.K. Subban got in on the fun six minutes into the second period, scoring his first of the season on a nice pass from Max Pacioretty. Subban had taken the most shots in the league (51) without scoring prior to the goal.

Travis Moen made it a rout in the final minute of the period, bouncing a centering pass past Cam Ward from a bad angle for his sixth goal of the campaign.
