Canucks 5, Coyotes 0

Cory Schneider made 21 saves en route to his second consecutive shutout and Ryan Kesler recorded a goal and an assist as the Vancouver Canucks skated to a 5-0 road triumph over the Phoenix Coyotes on Friday.

Defenseman Sami Salo, David Booth, Maxim Lapierre and Alex Burrows also scored for Vancouver, which has won six of eight games overall and four of five on the road.

Schneider turned aside four shots in the first period, six in the second and 11 in the third to extend his scoreless streak to 138 minutes, 46 seconds. He has allowed one goal on 74 shots in winning his last three starts.

Salo scored the only goal the Canucks needed on a slap shot from above the slot five minutes into the second period. Kesler doubled the lead 92 seconds later as he intercepted a neutral-zone backhand pass by former Canuck Raffi Torres and beat Mike Smith on a breakaway.

Booth made it 3-0 just 40 seconds afterward, and Lapierre and Burrows scored less than a minute apart in the third to provide the final margin.

Smith made 32 saves in only his second regulation loss in 11 games (8-2-1) for Phoenix, which had won four of six.
