Stars 3, Senators 2
Eric Nystrom scored the go-ahead goal with 2:20 remaining as the Dallas Stars rallied for a 3-2 victory over the visiting Ottawa Senators on Thursday night.
Andrew Raycroft made 33 saves - the last a sensational glove snag on captain Daniel Alfredsson with time expiring - as the Stars improved to 4-1-1 in their last six games.
With the teams tied 1-1 through 40 minutes, a harmless-looking play led to the go-ahead goal for Ottawa at 11:42 of the third period. Raycroft directed an Alfredsson wrist shot directly to Milan Michalek, who snapped a shot past Raycroft's blocker for his 15th goal of the season.
Dallas drew even with just under five minutes remaining. Mike Ribeiro ragged the puck inside the Ottawa zone for several seconds before centering to Radek Dvorak, who redirected the puck past Senators netminder Craig Anderson.
That set the stage for Nystrom, who circled out from behind the net and whistled a shot that eluded Anderson low on the blocker side.
Ottawa's Erik Condra opened the scoring 7:07 into the first period. Moments after leaving the penalty box, Condra gathered a pass from Jared Cowen and wired a wrist shot past Raycroft's glove.
Steve Ott evened things on a power play 2 1/2 minutes later, redirecting a Toby Peterson shot past Anderson on the short side. It was the Stars' first man-advantage goal in 23 opportunities.
