Flyers 4, Ducks 3 (OT)
Claude Giroux scored a power-play goal 3:29 into overtime as the Philadelphia Flyers rallied from a three-goal deficit to spoil the debut of Bruce Boudreau as the Anaheim Ducks' coach with a 4-3 road triumph on Friday.
Jaromir Jagr collected a pair of power-play goals and an assist in his return from a groin injury and defenseman Kimmo Timonen had three assists for Philadelphia, which has won three of its last four games.
With Anaheim's Ryan Getzlaf serving both a hooking and unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in overtime, Giroux ripped a one-timer from the left faceoff circle that beat Jonas Hiller under the crossbar.
After the Ducks scored the first three goals, Jagr deflected Timonen's point shot past Hiller with 4:42 remaining in the second period. The veteran then brought the Flyers to within one after one-timing Timonen's feed in the right faceoff circle.
Scott Hartnell leveled the contest with 3:02 remaining in the third period after converting Timonen's centering feed.
Andrew Cogliano scored a power-play goal, Teemu Selanne also tallied and Andrew Gordon recorded his second career NHL tally for Anaheim, which suffered its eighth loss in nine games.
A former Jack Adams Award winner, Boudreau replaced the fired Randy Carlyle shortly after the Ducks posted a 4-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday night. Boudreau had been fired by the Washington Capitals on Monday.
