Flames 2, Wild 1
Jarome Iginla scored the game-winner and added an assist as the Calgary Flames topped Minnesota 2-1 Tuesday, handing the Wild their fifth consecutive loss.
Iginla's fourth multi-point effort of the month halted a four-game losing skid for the Flames, moving them back to the .500 mark for the season.
Minnesota has just six goals during its five-game skid.
The Flames needed just 2:47 to open the scoring, as Curtis Glencross gathered an Iginla pass from the high slot before going to his backhand and lifting a shot past Minnesota netminder Josh Harding.
Pierre-Marc Bouchard drew the Wild even at 6:10, sliding a backhand past a fallen Miikka Kiprusoff after the Calgary goaltender failed to corral the initial shot.
Iginla's 497th career goal put Calgary in front 6:02 into the second frame. The Flames captain pounced on a loose puck and jammed a backhand shot just inside the right post, giving him 14 points (six goals, eight assists) over his last 10 games.
