Blues 3, Coyotes 2

Matt D'Agostini snapped a tie late in the second period and Brian Elliott turned aside 24 shots as the St. Louis Blues skated to a 3-2 road triumph over the Phoenix Coyotes on Friday.

Prior to the game, the Coyotes inducted former captain Keith Tkachuk into the team's Ring of Honor. The four-time Olympian joined Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Hull, Thomas Steen, Dale Hawerchuk and Teppo Numminen in having their respective numbers retired by the organization.

Tkachuk, who also played parts of nine seasons in St. Louis, took part in the ceremonial puck drop.

Steen's son Alex collected his third goal in five contests and veteran Jason Arnott also tallied as St. Louis won for the sixth time in eight games.

With the game tied at 1-1 with 1:35 remaining in the second period, D'Agostini entered the offensive zone and blasted a shot from the right faceoff dot which caromed off LaBarbera's glove and into the net. The goal for D'Agostini was his seventh of the season, and first since Nov. 29.

Arnott doubled the advantage just 1:48 into the third period. The veteran settled a loose puck moments after Phoenix captain Shane Doan blocked defenseman Kris Russell's shot and wristed a shot past LaBarbera for his seventh goal of the season.

Defenseman Keith Yandle and Doan scored and LaBarbera stopped 15 shots for Phoenix, which fell for the fourth time in five home games to drop to 7-8-2 at Jobing.com Arena this season.
