Rookie Sean Couturier scored a shorthanded goal for his fifth tally in as many games and Ilya Bryzgalov turned aside 25 shots as the Philadelphia Flyers breezed to a 5-1 home triumph over the reeling Minnesota Wild on Tuesday.
Scott Hartnell netted his team-leading 20th goal, Jakub Voracek and defensemen Kimmo Timonen and Braydon Coburn also tallied and All-Star Claude Giroux secured his 200th career point with an assist for Philadelphia.
Former Flyer Darroll Powe started the contest and scored for Minnesota, which has dropped 14 of its last 16 contests (2-10-4) overall and fell to 0-8-2 in its last 10 road games.
After All-Star Timonen staked Philadelphia to a 1-0 lead, Couturier doubled the advantage midway through the second period after converting a give-and-go with fellow rookie Matt Read. Couturier barely made contact on Read's return pass at the doorstep, but had enough on the shot to join eight of his teammates with double-digit goals this season.
After Powe trimmed the deficit back to one, Coburn netted his second of the season off a deflection just 69 seconds later. Hartnell did the same with just over four minutes remaining in the session to give Philadelphia a 4-1 edge and send the Wells Fargo Center into a frenzy.
Making his third straight start, Josh Harding finished with 29 saves to fall to 2-5-2 in his career versus the Flyers.
