Avalanche 4, Panthers 3 (OT)
Ryan O’Reilly scored the winner 3:53 into overtime as the host Colorado Avalanche erased a two-goal deficit to beat the Florida Panthers 4-3 on Wednesday night.
Peter Mueller had two goals - his first in nearly two years - and an assist, and was instrumental in the Colorado comeback.
Twenty seconds into the third period, Florida's Tomas Kopecky capitalized on a fortuitous bounce in front of the net for his sixth marker of the season to make it 3-1 for the Panthers.
Just over three minutes later, Mueller hammered a one-timer past Jose Theodore on a Colorado power play for his second goal of the game to cut the Florida lead to 3-2.
With 3:17 remaining in the third period, Paul Stastny batted in his own rebound for his 13th goal of the season to knot the game and send it to overtime.
Marcel Goc and Stephen Weiss had the other Florida goals.
Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 26 saves to earn his 11th victory of the season.
Theodore made 40 saves in his return from a knee injury.
The Avalanche had scored just six goals in their previous five games.
