Flames 2, Kings 1 (SO)

Mike Cammalleri scored the decisive goal in the third round of the shootout as the Calgary Flames halted their six-game road losing streak with a 2-1 triumph over the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday.

Captain Jarome Iginla tallied in regulation and Miikka Kiprusoff made 31 saves for Calgary, which stopped a four-game skid against Los Angeles and earned coach Brent Sutter his 200th career victory.

Justin Williams scored on the Kings' first chance in the shootout, but Olli Jokinen answered on Calgary's initial opportunity. After Los Angeles defenseman Jack Johnson failed to convert, Cammalleri deked to his backhand before beating Jonathan Quick to the stick side, giving the Flames the edge.

Kiprusoff denied Mike Richards on the Kings' final attempt, clinching Calgary's fourth win in 11 games.

The Kings grabbed a 1-0 lead just 3 1/2 minutes into the game.

Williams carried the puck into the offensive zone and lost control at the top of the slot. But it slid right down the slot, and captain Dustin Brown fired it past Kiprusoff for his 13th goal of the season. Williams extended his points streak to six games with the assist.

Calgary pulled even midway through the second when Iginla beat Quick with a slap shot from the left faceoff dot.

Quick stopped 24 shots for Los Angeles, which is 8-1-6 under coach Darryl Sutter.
