Panthers 4, Jets 3 (SO)

Kris Versteeg recorded two goals and an assist and Mikael Samuelsson converted the deciding tally in the seventh round of the shootout as the visiting Florida Panthers edged the Winnipeg Jets 4-3 on Saturday.

Mike Santorelli also scored as the Panthers snapped an eight-game road losing streak and four-game slide overall.

Scott Clemmensen made 41 saves and stopped three in the shootout.

Winnipeg's Alex Burmistrov tied the game at 3-3 with 6:15 remaining in regulation, slipping a shot past Clemmensen at the left post.

Nik Antropov scored twice for Winnipeg, which was without leading goal scorer Evander Kane. The Jets announced that Kane is dealing with a concussion.

Florida arrived in Winnipeg at about 2:30 a.m. after playing in Chicago Friday night, but had enough energy to take a two-goal lead after one period and never trailed.

Versteeg took a nifty pass from Marcel Goc and whipped a backhand into the net at 5:40 for his first goal in 10 games.
