Stars 2, Wild 1

Loui Eriksson and All-Star Jamie Benn scored shootout goals as the Dallas Stars continued their home dominance over the Minnesota Wild with a 2-1 triumph on Saturday.

Mike Ribeiro scored a power-play goal and Kari Lehtonen made 33 saves for Dallas, which has won 15 straight home meetings with Minnesota.

Lehtonen denied the newly acquired Erik Christensen on the Wild's first shootout attempt, and Eriksson slid a backhander between Niklas Backstrom's pads to give the Stars the edge. Matt Cullen converted for Minnesota and Benn answered by beating Backstrom to the stick side before Lehtonen stopped Jared Spurgeon to seal the win.

After a scoreless first period, Dallas broke through on the power play with 4:48 left in the second. Defenseman Alex Goligoski's blue-line shot went wide and caromed off the end boards to Ribeiro, who moved from the right faceoff circle to the slot before beating Backstrom with a wrist shot.

Minnesota took advantage of a turnover early in the third to draw even. Nick Johnson intercepted Jake Dowell's backhand pass attempt in the Stars' zone and gave the puck to Kyle Brodziak.

After streaking down the slot alone, Brodziak deked Lehtonen to the ice and buried a shot for his 15th goal of the season.

Backstrom stopped 25 shots for the Wild, who have lost 17 of their last 22 games.
