Blackhawks 4, Rangers 2
BLACKHAWKS 4, RANGERS 2: Captain Jonathan Toews and Marian Hossa each had a goal and an assist as Chicago snapped a nine-game losing skid by scoring four goals in the first 10 minutes of the contest.
Defenseman Marc Staal and rookie Carl Hagelin scored later for the Rangers, but it was too little too late.
Toews was awarded a penalty shot just 1:05 into the game when Rangers defenseman Dan Girardi covered a loose puck with his glove in the crease. The captain went between the pads of Martin Biron for his 28th goal of the season on the ensuing penalty shot.
Just over a minute later, defenseman Nick Leddy let a rocket go from the point that beat a screened Biron to double the advantage.
Patrick Sharp padded the lead four minutes into the first when he beat Biron to make it 3-0 on his 23rd goal of the season.
Hossa capped a four-goal barrage when he fired between the pads of Biron on a breakaway for his 22nd goal.
Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook played over 28 minutes and had two assists.
Corey Crawford made 22 saves to earn his 19th win of the season.
