Blues 5, Islanders 1
BLUES 5, ISLANDERS 1: T.J. Oshie recorded a goal and two assists while defenseman Alex Pietrangelo set up three scores as St. Louis spotted New York an early lead before extending its home point streak to 20 games.
Jason Arnott, defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk, Andy McDonald and David Perron also scored while All-Star Brian Elliott made 26 saves for the Blues, who are 17-0-3 in their last 20 contests at the Scottrade Center.
Frans Nielsen gave the Islanders the lead just 59 seconds into the game, but it was all Elliott would surrender as he has allowed three goals or less in 14 consecutive matches.
Arnott buried a loose puck on the doorstep with 5:20 remaining in the first period and Shattenkirk beat Al Montoya with a slap shot during a power play 2 1/2 minutes later to put St. Louis ahead for good.
McDonald, who was playing in his sixth game of the season and third since returning from a concussion, put a backhander past Montoya less than three minutes into the second to make it 3-1. Perron and Oshie scored on deflections later in the session to complete the scoring.
Montoya stopped 21 shots for New York, which had its four-game road winning streak snapped.
