FLAMES 1, KINGS 0: Mike Cammalleri scored just over four minutes into the third period and Miikka Kiprusoff made 28 saves as Calgary edged Los Angeles to extend its point streak both overall and on the road to eight games.
Tom Kostopoulos notched an assist for the Flames, who improved to 5-0-3 in its last eight contests and 4-0-4 in its last eight away from home.
Kostopoulos chased down a loose puck and threw it toward the net from the right corner. The puck hit the side of the net and caromed into the low slot, where Cammalleri fired it past All-Star Jonathan Quick at 4:03 of the third for his 14th goal of the season and fifth in 14 games with Calgary.
Kiprusoff turned aside nine shots in the first period, 12 in the second and seven in the third for his 44th career shutout and fourth this campaign.
Quick made 17 saves for the Kings, who were blanked for the eighth time this season and second in as many games. Los Angeles, which has dropped five 1-0 decisions this campaign and three this month, has scored fewer than two goals in 12 of its 20 contests in 2012.
