BLACKHAWKS 5, MAPLE LEAFS 4: Marian Hossa snapped a tie with 7:54 remaining in the second period and added an empty-netter in the final minute as Chicago ended its three-game losing streak with its seventh consecutive win over visiting Toronto.
All-Star Patrick Kane notched a goal and an assist, Andrew Shaw and Marcus Kruger also scored and Ray Emery stopped 23 of 24 shots in relief for the Blackhawks, who have won eight of 10 at home.
Trailing 3-1, Chicago began its comeback late in the second period as Nick Leddy's blast from the right point deflected off Kruger and past Jonas Gustavsson with 30 seconds remaining.
Kane knotted the contest 8 1/2 minutes into the third when his backhander from the right side of the net caromed off Gustavsson and in. Hossa gave the Blackhawks the lead 3 1/2 minutes later, burying a wrist shot from the slot while being interfered with by Mikhail Grabovski.
Hossa scored an empty-net goal with 16 seconds remaining that proved important as Toronto's Mike Brown tallied for the first time since Oct. 27 with two seconds left.
Joffrey Lupul registered a goal and an assist while Tyler Bozak and Clarke MacArthur also scored for the Maple Leafs, who have lost six straight and 10 of 11.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Hossa's goal was his fifth in nine games. He has also notched three assists during that span. ... Shaw's tally ended his 11-game drought that followed a four-game goal-scoring streak. ... Lupul's two-point performance was his second in as many contests and fifth in his last 13 matches. ... Maple Leafs All-Star Phil Kessel notched an assist, giving him at least one point in 10 of his last 12 games. ... Defenseman Johnny Oduya made his Blackhawks debut after being acquired from Winnipeg on Monday, registering one shot on goal in just under 20 minutes of ice time.
