STARS 4, FLAMES 1: All-Star Jamie Benn scored twice and Kari Lehtonen turned aside 35 shots as host Dallas regained a share of first place in the Pacific Division by winning the opener of the home-and-home series versus Calgary.

The Flames' loss allowed Vancouver to secure its fourth consecutive Northwest Division title.

Michael Ryder recorded his team-leading 33rd goal and captain Brenden Morrow added an empty-net tally for the Stars, who posted their second win in three outings to pull into a tie with Phoenix. The Coyotes dropped a 4-3 shootout loss to San Jose on Saturday.

Michael Cammalleri scored to extend his point streak to four contests and Miikka Kiprusoff stopped 16 shots for Calgary, which fell to 0-2-3 in its last five games.

After Benn opened the scoring with a wraparound just 1:27 into the contest, Ryder doubled the advantage nearly six minutes later after wristing a shot from the right faceoff circle past Kiprusoff.

Cammalleri trimmed the deficit to one after accepting a cross-slot feed from defenseman Anton Babchuk and wiring a shot from the right faceoff circle.

Benn provided insurance with 3:33 remaining and Morrow capped the scoring with an empty-net tally just over two minutes later.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Stars have defeated the Flames in all three games this season. ... Lehtonen collected an assist on Ryder's goal, marking his second straight game with a point. The Finnish netminder has three assists this season. ... Dallas improved to 13-4-0 against teams from the Northwest Division.
