Penguins 3, Maple Leafs 1

Pascal Dupuis scored twice in just over five minutes late in the third period as visiting Pittsburgh toppled Toronto.

Craig Adams added an empty-net tally while captain Sidney Crosby and Chris Kunitz each recorded two assists for the Penguins, who scored three goals in the final seven minutes to earn a 3-2 victory over Boston on Tuesday. Marc-Andre Fleury made 28 saves to help run Pittsburgh‘s winning streak to seven games.

Tyler Bozak scored and Ben Scrivens stopped 25 shots as the Maple Leafs ran their winless streak to four games (0-3-1).

Crosby set up the go-ahead goal by blocking a shot at one end and sending the puck out toward Kunitz, who grabbed it along the boards before rushing up the left wing and hitting Dupuis in the slot with a backhand pass. Dupuis got the wrist shot up high enough to evade an attempted block and sneak past Scrivens with 2:10 left to play.

The Penguins had knotted the contest 5:08 earlier, when Kunitz won a race to the puck behind the end line and sent a pass back to Crosby in the left faceoff circle. Crosby spun around and sent a backhand feed to a streaking Dupuis on the doorstep.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Maple Leafs scored the first goal on a beautiful play as C Phil Kessel brought the puck up the left side and stopped hard before cutting to the middle and dumping it off to Cody Franson.
