Carey Price turned aside all 36 shots he faced for his 20th career shutout and reigning Norris Trophy winner P.K. Subban scored to extend his point streak to five games as visiting Montreal posted its third straight victory.
Brandon Prust also tallied and Daniel Briere collected an empty-net goal and an assist for the Canadiens, who finished a four-game road trip with a 3-1-0 mark. The victory was Montreal's sixth straight versus the Winnipeg franchise and ninth in 10 outings.
Ondrej Pavelec finished with 22 saves for the Jets, who fell to 1-4-0 in their last five contests.
After stopping 39 shots in a 4-1 win over Vancouver in his home province on Saturday, Price highlighted his first shutout of the season with a 15-save performance in the third period.
Prust opened the scoring at 2:06 of the first period after banging home the rebound of Briere's shot off the end boards. Montreal doubled the advantage 9:22 later after David Desharnais coupled a great back-checking effort before feeding Subban for a blistering one-timer from the blue line.
