Lightning 3, Hurricanes 0
Ben Bishop turned aside 31 shots for his fourth career shutout as Tampa Bay continued its dominance at Carolina.
Alex Killorn recorded a goal and an assist while Steven Stamkos and defenseman Victor Hedman also tallied as the Lightning won their fifth consecutive game at PNC Arena and handed the Hurricanes their fourth straight defeat.
Justin Peters made 29 saves for Carolina, which has scored only four goals during its skid and fell to 1-3-3 at home - the only win coming on Oct. 6. The Hurricanes have only three victories in their last 19 home games dating to last season.
Tampa Bay gave Bishop all the offensive support he needed midway through the second period on a fluke goal by Hedman. Nate Thompson missed badly on a wraparound attempt, but Hedman collected the loose puck at the left point and drilled a slap shot that ricocheted off the end boards before caroming off Peters and into the net.
Stamkos doubled the lead with just over eight minutes to play, putting a backhander past Peters for his 10th goal, before Killorn capped the scoring with 2:46 remaining. Captain Martin St. Louis assisted on the final two tallies to give him 16 points for the season.
