Stars 4, Red Wings 3 (OT)
Rich Peverley scored 4:41 into overtime as visiting Dallas won its third straight contest.
With the shootout looming, Peverley gathered a pass from Valeri Nichushkin and fired a snap shot through traffic and past Jimmy Howard, sending Dallas to its first win in its last three meetings with Detroit. Cody Eakin's power-play goal with 1:10 remaining in the third period forced overtime, Shawn Horcoff and captain Jamie Benn also scored and Kari Lehtonen made 26 saves.
Pavel Datsyuk scored a highlight-reel goal and added an assist, Adam Almquist netted his first career tally and Todd Bertuzzi notched a goal and an assist for the Red Wings. Captain Henrik Zetterberg assisted on all three scores while Howard stopped 24 shots in defeat.
With Detroit ahead 2-0 on goals by Bertuzzi and Almqvist, Horcoff put the Stars on the board with 21 seconds remaining in the second period, flipping the puck over Howard's pads from in close. Benn drew Dallas even 4:08 into the third, gathering a turnover at his own blue line and finishing off a great individual effort with a backhand shot.
Datsyuk countered Benn's magic with some of his own at 11:34. Following extended pressure in the Dallas zone, Datsyuk wheeled through the slot before deking out Horcoff and whistling a shot past Lehtonen.
