Canucks 5, Senators 2
Daniel Sedin kicked off a four-goal second-period outburst with his 300th career tally as Vancouver extended its dominance over host Ottawa.
David Booth, defenseman Jason Garrison and Dale Wiese also contributed to the outburst as the Canucks defeated Ottawa for the sixth straight time. Sedin, Booth, Garrison and Mike Santorelli all finished with a goal and an assist while Roberto Luongo made 37 saves.
Clarke MacArthur and Mika Zibanejad tallied for the Senators, who have been outscored 26-9 in their last six meetings with the Canucks. Craig Anderson was replaced by Robin Lehner (12 saves) after allowing four goals on 15 shots.
MacArthur opened the scoring 8:50 into the game, collecting a pass from defenseman Marc Methot inside his own blue line and blazing down the left wing before firing a shot that beat Luongo up high. Sedin evened things 31 seconds into the middle period, putting a low shot past Anderson after a centering pass from his brother Henrik.
Booth put Vancouver in front just 45 seconds after Sedin's milestone tally, and Garrison extended the lead during a power play at 4:06 by sneaking in untouched and unleashing a one-timer from the bottom of the right faceoff circle. Vancouver completed the scoring barrage at 9:22, as Weise chased Anderson with a shot from in close that beat the sprawling netminder after he stopped Garrison's initial shot from the point.
