Blackhawks 2, Stars 1 (SO)

Ben Smith ended a marathon shootout in the 11th round as visiting Chicago extended its winning streak to five games.

Patrick Sharp scored in regulation and Corey Crawford stopped 28 shots for the Blackhawks, who improved to 5-1-0 on their seven-game road trip. Smith beat Kari Lehtonen high to the glove side in the bonus format to give Chicago its second win over Dallas in as many meetings this season.

Rich Peverley tallied and Lehtonen finished with 25 saves for the Stars, who ended a stretch of five straight games with a power-play goal allowed.

Dallas grabbed a 1-0 lead with 3:20 left in the first period thanks to a miscue by Crawford. The goaltender turned over the puck behind the net to Shawn Horcoff, who used a backhand pass to set up Peverley for an easy shot from the slot into a vacant net.

Sharp forged a tie at 7:21 of the third, deflecting a shot from along the left-wing boards past Lehtonen for his 10th of the season.
