Canucks 2, Jets 1
Defenseman Chris Tanev scored midway into the third period to snap a tie and rookie Eddie Lack turned aside 15 shots in relief of an injured Roberto Luongo as Vancouver claimed its sixth straight home victory and ninth in 11 overall games (9-1-1).
Luongo made six saves before suffering a lower-body injury following a collision with Jets defenseman Dustin Byfuglien late in the first period. Brad Richardson scored a power-play goal for the Canucks, who have defeated Winnipeg on four straight occasions at home.
Vancouver native Evander Kane netted a man-advantage goal and Mark Scheifele notched an assist to extend his point streak to six games. Ondrej Pavelec finished with 23 saves for the Jets, who have dropped five of seven (2-4-1).
With the contest tied at 1-1, Zack Kassian's sharp-angle shot was denied, but he settled his own rebound behind the net and sent the puck into the slot. Tanev wristed a shot past Pavelec for his fourth goal - and third in seven games.
The Canucks drew first blood midway through the first period as Richardson deflected defenseman Dan Hamhuis' point shot past Pavelec with just one second remaining on the power play. Kane answered 11:22 into the second with a one-timer from the slot after a brilliant saucer pass from Blake Wheeler, who was stationed behind the end line.
