Erik Cole scored a pair of goals as host Dallas extended its point streak to five games (4-0-1).

Captain Jamie Benn and Ryan Garbutt also tallied while defenseman Alex Goligoski notched two assists for the Stars, who improved to 5-1-2 in their last eight home games. Kari Lehtonen turned aside 33 shots.

Defenseman Kevin Klein netted the lone goal for the Predators, who are winless in their last five contests (0-4-1).

Benn opened the scoring 42 seconds into the game as he carried the puck down the left wing and skated behind the net before tucking it inside the right post. Klein drew Nashville even at 7:14 of the second, converting a pass from Colin Wilson while cutting down the slot, but Cole put Dallas ahead for good 24 seconds later by beating a screened Carter Hutton (30 saves) from high in the right faceoff circle.

Cole completed his first two-goal performance of the season with 5:56 left in the period, taking a feed from Goligoski on the right wing and cutting to the net before backhanding the puck off Hutton's left skate and inside the right post. Garbutt scored on a tip-in at 4:09 of the third to seal the win.
