Predators 4, Flames 2
Defenseman Ryan Ellis scored and set up a tally to highlight his team's three-goal third period and Carter Hutton turned aside 22 shots as host Nashville posted just its second win in the last eight games (2-3-3).
Craig Smith and captain Shea Weber added power-play tallies and Viktor Stalberg also scored for the Predators, who snapped a three-game winless streak (0-2-1). David Legwand notched three assists to reach 350 for his career.
Mikael Backlund scored for the third straight contest and Lee Stempniak also tallied for the Flames, who have dropped five in a row in the Music City and eight of their last 10 overall.
Ellis gave Nashville a 2-1 lead just 55 seconds into the third period after skating into the high slot and unleashing a blast past Karri Ramo (30 saves), who was screened on the play. Smith cleaned up a loose puck in front 1:45 later before Stalberg deflected Ellis' blast midway through the session.
With Matt Stajan serving an interference penalty, defenseman Roman Josi set up Weber for a blistering one-timer from the point that sailed past Ramo to open the scoring at 15:52 of the first period. Stempniak forged a tie just over three minutes later after beating Hutton from the right circle.
