Predators 4, Jets 3
Mike Fisher scored the game-winning goal 42 seconds into the third period as visiting Nashville cooled off Winnipeg.
Nick Spaling and defensemen Seth Jones and Roman Josi also tallied as the Predators completed a 2-1-1 road trip. Carter Hutton made 24 saves to improve to 5-1-0 in his last six starts.
Mark Scheifele registered a goal and an assist while Chris Thorburn and Blake Wheeler also scored for the Jets, who lost for only the second time in eight games (6-2-0) since Paul Maurice took over as coach. Ondrej Pavelec turned aside 21 shots.
Spaling gave Nashville a 3-1 lead with 2:42 left in the second period, but Winnipeg answered with a pair of goals 27 seconds apart to tie it after two sessions. Scheifele banked a shot off a cluster of Predators from the side of the net at 18:13 before setting up the red-hot Wheeler, whose shot from the slot was gloved by Hutton but trickled into the net.
Jones opened the scoring at 3:48 of the first period, busting down the right wing and using his long reach to beat Pavelec on a wraparound. Thorburn knotted it 22 seconds later with a tip-in from the high slot for his first tally of the season.
