Rangers 3, Flyers 1

Defenseman Ryan McDonagh scored for the second consecutive contest and Henrik Lundqvist turned aside 30 shots as New York skated to its eighth straight home victory over Philadelphia.

Fourth-liners Derek Dorsett and Dominic Moore also tallied for the second-place Rangers, who won their season-high fifth in a row and moved three points ahead of the Flyers in the Metropolitan Division.

Jakub Voracek scored with 1:53 remaining to thwart Lundqvist's bid for his franchise-best 51st career shutout - and NHL high-tying sixth of the season. Steve Mason finished with 26 saves as Philadelphia fell to 4-1-1 in its last six road games and remained three points ahead of Eastern Conference contenders Columbus, Detroit, Washington and Toronto.

New York drew first blood 8:41 into the first period as Brian Boyle's backhanded centering feed found Dorsett, who shoveled the puck past Mason. After McDonagh's shot from the right faceoff circle squeezed inside the near post at 5:34 of the second, the Rangers grabbed a 3-0 lead as Moore deftly deflected defenseman Kevin Klein's shot past Mason just over 7 1/2 minutes into the third.

Voracek wired a shot from the upper edge of the right circle that sailed over the left shoulder of Lundqvist, who wrapped up his 30th victory shortly thereafter.

GAME NOTEBOOK: McDonagh has collected three goals and four assists during his five-game point streak. ... The home team won all four contests in the regular-season series. ... Philadelphia thwarted both short-handed situations and has successfully killed 32 of its last 33 penalties.
